How to start a faceless drama channel — a realistic plan

Most guides to faceless TikTok and YouTube channels point you at slideshow content: stock footage, a synthetic voiceover, a Reddit story. That content is cheap to make and cheap to copy — which is exactly the problem. This is the plan for the harder, better version: a serialised drama channel with a recurring cast, built with AI, run by one person, no camera and no face required.

Why serialised drama beats commodity faceless content

A slideshow channel competes on volume in a category with no moat. Anyone can clone the format in an afternoon, so the algorithm is your only distribution and every video starts from zero.

A drama series works differently. When episode 4 ends on a cliffhanger and the same recognisable characters return in episode 5, viewers come back for the show — you're building an audience attached to characters and a story, not renting attention one clip at a time. And because the series is original IP, you own it: with Iguanify, full commercial rights to every delivered episode are yours.

Be honest with yourself about the trade, though: serialised drama is more effort and more money than slideshow content. Episodes cost real dollars, continuity has to hold across a season, and you'll spend actual thought on your premise and genre. If you want the cheapest possible faceless channel, this isn't it. If you want one that's defensible, read on.

The 5-step plan

  1. Pick a genre and premise. Micro-drama audiences reward strong, familiar engines: revenge, secret identity, forbidden romance, family betrayal. Write one logline you'd stop scrolling for. (If you want to understand the format first, our AI micro-drama guide covers what makes vertical drama work.)
  2. Build the show — free. On Iguanify the show build costs nothing: you put the premise in and get a series bible, a recurring consistent cast and a poster out before you spend a dollar. This is your go/no-go checkpoint — if the bible and cast don't excite you, revise the premise and rebuild.
  3. Produce your first week of episodes. Each standard episode is about a minute at 720p, finished and serialised in 9:16. Most episodes generate in under an hour, so a first batch is a days-long job, not a months-long one.
  4. Post on a daily cadence. Daily is the rhythm micro-drama audiences expect. Bank a small buffer so a busy day never breaks the streak.
  5. Read retention and double down. After two weeks you'll know which episodes hold viewers and which characters drive comments. Feed that back into the next arc. This loop — publish, read, adjust — is the actual job of running the channel.

Here's what finished output looks like — both produced by the same engine that will build your show.

The cadence math

Faceless channels live or die on posting rhythm, so budget in weeks of cadence, not in videos. All packs are one-time purchases in USD, and credits never expire. All prices are in USD.

Testing the idea: the show build (bible, cast, poster) is free. On your first show, a launch offer takes 50% off episodes 1–4 — so your first finished episode is about $17.50 — and 20% off episodes 5–10.

First posting week: the Creator pack — 5 episodes for $149.99 — covers your opening run.

A month of daily episodes: the Season pack — 24 episodes for $699.99, our most popular — is roughly an episode a day for a month, at about $29 per finished episode.

Scaling up: Studio (60 episodes, $1,499.99) and Slate (130 episodes, $2,999.99) exist for multi-show operators. There's no episode cap — seasons can run 24, 100, 200+ episodes.

For context, here is what the same finished minute costs by other routes (a standard Iguanify episode is about one minute):

RouteCostWhat you get
Traditional live-action vertical season~$200K per season (industry reporting)Cast, crew, shoot, edit — out of reach for a solo operator
Concierge AI studio~$100 per finished minuteDone-for-you, but a 24-episode season runs into thousands
DIY multi-tool stack~3–6 hours of your time per finished minuteYou are the pipeline: script, shots, voices, consistency, edit
Iguanify$34.99 per standard episode (~$17.50 first episode on launch offer)Finished serialised episode, recurring cast, ready to publish

Platform notes: Reels, TikTok, Shorts

Every episode is delivered in vertical 9:16, ready to upload to Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts without reframing. Cross-post the same episode to all three from day one — each platform's audience discovers series differently, and the marginal cost of a second platform is zero. Episode-length content of about a minute sits inside every platform's native short-form format, and the serialised structure (numbered episodes, recap hooks, cliffhangers) is the same playbook the vertical drama apps proved at scale.

The honest part: nobody can promise you views

Read this section twice before spending money — on us or anyone else.

No tool, agency or guru can promise views or income. Distribution depends on your premise, your consistency, platform algorithms and timing — factors nobody sells. Our own Terms explicitly forbid us from pretending otherwise: Iguanify makes no representation of earnings, audience growth or commercial success, and you shouldn't buy credits expecting a financial return.

What we can show you is proof the output holds an audience: partner pages on Meta have done 5.4M views from 1.4M viewers since May 2026, running entirely on Iguanify episodes. Here's what that number means — and what it doesn't. It means the episodes are watchable at scale: real feeds, real viewers, not a demo reel. It does not mean your channel will do the same. Those pages had their own premises, cadence and audiences; yours will be different.

The rational response to that uncertainty is to keep the test cheap. The show build is free, and your first finished episode is about $17.50 on the launch offer. If a job fails our quality gates it's refunded automatically, and any delivered episode has one-tap human review. You can find out whether your premise holds viewers for less than the cost of a night out — that's the honest pitch, and it's the whole pitch.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to show my face or record my voice?

No. Iguanify produces the entire episode — script, recurring cast, performances, edit — from your premise. You never appear on camera or on mic. Your job is choosing the premise, posting the episodes and reading what your audience responds to.

How much does it cost to start a faceless drama channel?

The show build — series bible, recurring cast, poster — is free. A standard episode is $34.99 (about one minute at 720p), and on your first show the launch offer cuts episodes 1–4 by 50% (first episode ≈ $17.50) and episodes 5–10 by 20%. A first posting week via the Creator pack is $149.99; a month of daily episodes via the Season pack is $699.99. Credits never expire.

Who owns the episodes — can I monetise them?

You do. Full commercial rights to delivered output are yours: publish, monetise and adapt the show on any platform without paying us a further fee. Whether any platform pays you depends on that platform's programmes and your audience — that part nobody can promise.

How fast can I build a posting buffer?

Most episodes generate in under an hour, and a full season produces in days, not months. Practically, that means you can build a one-to-two-week posting buffer before your channel ever goes live — the single best insurance against breaking a daily cadence.
